Disklok for the FF or other visual deterrants

Am after a disklok for the FF as extra, visable security, what size/model of disklok do i need please?

And wheres cheapest, Ive seen from about £110 upwards??

Any other visable mods work adding, to deter the opportunist?

wheel clamps, A large dog in the back......

It all depends on how much hassle you want every time you want to drive the thing.

Window etching with the reg number is simple and cheap (some insurers will pay for it), makes it more difficult to change the cars ID to export it or sell on.

Cheers Zircon, not for every day use as shes a 2nd car, but more for when we go away for a week and she parked on the drive etc.

a physical barrier on your drive would be good then, one of the folding bollards for example.

You could of course just fit a tracker, they do one where they'll contact you if the car starts moving when you've told them it shouldn't be. So it gets reported stolen straight away, the numberplate gets immediately added to the PNC as stolen (ANPR picks it up) and tracker equiped police cars will be scanning for it's locator signal.

Is a visual deterrent really necessary ??

Isn't it the case, that it is "known" amongst would be thieves that without the key they are on a hiding to nothing, as with most modern cars ??

I'd be more concerned that they break into your house while you are away and look for the keys to load up the RR with the "booty" and make a get away.

Always take my spare keys with me and lock up the ones to Swmbos car and the vans, in a different house. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

True, but with an overt deterrent it might mean they realise even if they find the keys they'll still struggle to get use the car if the steering lock/bollard key isn't there. House lighting timers to make it look like someone is at home also add to it.

Can always just put a floor safe in the house somewhere. It's where i put my keys and important docs, i found it cheaper than buying a second house to keep them in. Laughing But yes, you can just leave all your keys with a friend, and ask them to stop by and check on the house once in a while.

Ultimately they could turn up with a 4 wheel lift and take the car that way if they really wanted it that much.
