wheel clamps, A large dog in the back...... It all depends on how much hassle you want every time you want to drive the thing. Window etching with the reg number is simple and cheap (some insurers will pay for it), makes it more difficult to change the cars ID to export it or sell on. |

a physical barrier on your drive would be good then, one of the folding bollards for example.

Always take my spare keys with me and lock up the ones to Swmbos car and the vans, in a different house. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

True, but with an overt deterrent it might mean they realise even if they find the keys they'll still struggle to get use the car if the steering lock/bollard key isn't there. House lighting timers to make it look like someone is at home also add to it. Can always just put a floor safe in the house somewhere. It's where i put my keys and important docs, i found it cheaper than buying a second house to keep them in. But yes, you can just leave all your keys with a friend, and ask them to stop by and check on the house once in a while. Ultimately they could turn up with a 4 wheel lift and take the car that way if they really wanted it that much. |
