2006 (55) FFRR Supercharged vs 2007 FFRR Supercharged

Hi everyone,

I am in a dilemma in that I am looking for a Supercharged in Black (with Ivory leather/Piano Black trim) around the £10-12k mark.

I love the new 07 interior, but it comes at a £500 a year premium for the tax. Please don't start with the "If you can't afford blah blah"!! £500 is £500! We just sold an R32 Golf which was similar tax and it really hurts when it comes around.

The alternative is a 2006 model, but 55 plate so you get the lower tax band. Is there any point buying one in between the low tax band and the 07 i.e. 06/56?

I can afford and am willing to pay the higher tax, but do you think that its worth spending a bit more for the 07 plate models? Is there better reliability?

I'd be interested in reliability viewpoints for 55/06/56/07 models..

I would definitely prefer to spend more in advance for better reliability if the 07 means less expensive repairs.

Hi
My opinion is the newer interior is much better, if your buying one right on the changeover, I would go for the later one.
Reliability wise I wouldn't have thought anything in it, I would assume an 05 has the later front prop to diff coupling, as the earlier cars did have an issue/recall. I agree the Tax is a bit of a pain, but I think its worth paying the extra £4 a week for the facelifted car.
Others may disagree of course, but we all have our own opinions. Very Happy SC 4.2, 2012 face lifted, 25K miles, 1 previous owner

This was exactly my dilemma, and you even want the same car! Shocked

I decided that I would pay the extra tax, now I've just got to find a suitable car.

Tried to get hold of the seller a few times, but he never returned my calls. Listing has ended now, so I assume he has sold it. Lovely thing as well.

I can't believe it - I have that car pasted all over my wall!!! He didn't get back to me either. Its in the same village as my sister too.

Anyway, I'm a few weeks off buying so it was only a dream for me anyway.

It has part service history, thats the only off putting thing..

I'll bet your flicking through eBay and honing in on centre console switches and cup holder, plus checking for twin glovebox button on the photos?

The 07MY (interior upgrade) is FAR better in many more ways then just the interior... Suspension is different (better drive) as well as many other plus points...

Best to get the car you really want, and I think we all know (if you take your head out of the equation and run with the heart) which one that really is Whistle

If you are coming down to a debate on whether you can justify an extra circa £200 on road tax, you didn't ought to buying a RR of any description.

I think the high annual tax is something you just have to accept if you are going to run one of these Thumbs Up

2017 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Indus Silver

speaking as someone who has the 55, I'd much prefer the revised one. In spite of *slightly* less comfortable seats (the newer seats look MUCH nicer) Its an altogether nicer interior!

Thumbs Up Happy hunting, and Avoid Saxton 4x4!

Thanks for all the replies!

I know about the extra £200 etc.. that was more about 55 vs 06

56/07 is well worth the extra coin!

just need to find the right car now!

Is this too high mileage to consider?
