thoughts?

hey everyone, got the car up for sale at £12k(add in the for sale section).... had a few calls from punters but seems slow.... is it because.....

1) its on for too much?

2) wrong time of year?

3) just slow?

am in no rush to sell the car and can certainly wait till november time when the weather turns to sell it.... what do we think?

cheers

my old man used to have a saying about that........ If there is no interest then the price is too high.

Tdv8's start at 12k, so even though they will be a bit high mileage etc, some peeps may want to go that route, or save a bit more and get a tidier tdv8... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Andy, i just traded in my 2005 TD6 with 76k.

It was in perfect condition, nothing wrong with it.

The car dealer said it was worth 9k.

I squeezed another 1200 out of him.

So looks like it £1500 - £2000 to high at the mo..... So the q is, is it worth keeping till the onset of winter when the market may strengthen?

I have probably got quite a few bits that I could take off and flog like the dog guard, seat covers, digital TV etc and sell seperately.....

I suppose it depends whether you want to put the time in taking bits off, prob a good idea as I don't think they would affect trade in value much.

Some peeps just like the easiness of just trading it in without the hassle of selling private etc.

Car dealers tend to make their money buying a car rather than selling it, if you see what I mean.

Prices may firm up come winter time, but then so will the car you are buying, if it's a 4x4 anyway....

Good luck whatever you decide. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I'd agree that on the face of it, it is a bit over priced. It all depends on how much you want to move it on. Just a shame I don't want a diesel Shocked .

I personally don't think a Td6 is worth over 10k these days..as said from a couple of grand more you can get yourself into a Tdv8.

I traded in a 2007 VSE TDV8 - 120k miles for 12.5k

I'd agree with the above, at 12k you're competing against reasonable TDV8's so you may get lucky if its an exceptional example, but I wouldn't hold your breath.......

selling cars is a pain..... i will leave it where it is for now as i am probably off to france again in it, in a couple of weeks and ten i may just wait till the crapper weather sets in, i am getting a q7 or merc gl which are 4wd but more of just a bigger car rather than a proper 4wd so maybe then market won't go up as much..... if i get an offer of over £11k then i will probably take it...

I think the price is a bit high but within the haggel zone for some one on here who would appreciate what you have done to it .
Putting it on eBay or autotrader is a different question where the upgrades won't mean much to Joe blogs when compared to a car of the same age and miles.

Bear in mind Soft tops sell well this time of year, 4x4's sell well in winter, especially after a dose of snow. Thing is last winter wasn't especially harsh, the prices on 4x4 went sky high in 2011, because of the bad winter in 2010.
