Good day.Thanks for your last.u are are right mic has only 3 cables.Understood that swapping of cables 19-21,depending on which drawing u will use, does not affect function of mic.
Anyway i already ordered a new one and hope that problem will be solved.
I have spoken with guy who sold me the ulf,which if i remember well is either 7th or 8th generation and told me that these ulf have factory activated vr so no need to activate it my side.is it like this????
for using navcoder do u think that this odb ii is gonna work?

Hi.

That is the correct cable for navcoder. You will also need to register navcoder before you can code the units. Price should be on the navcoder web site.

My ulf was 6th gen and was not set to voice. Others on here have also found voice not set by default. Didn't think it was.

The PDF you have tried to link to is for a BMW tcu, which is not the ulf. The tcu is a telephone control unit, and was fitted before the ulf was available. Don't let that confuse you. They are different units.

The rr had a tcu fitted when there is the factory phone in the front armrest. It's old and not Bluetooth.

That's what the 54 pin plug goes to before it gets repinned for the ulf......

The only thing I can think of is that you have a break in the wires somewhere between the ULF and the front of the car.

I take it everything else works fine ? You can hear the person on the phone and its all displayed on the screen in the dash etc ?

After that, I'd possibly try connecting the microphone to the pins on the ULF directly, with the mic in the boot, using 3 wires that are a few inches long just to try it. That way you will prove that the wiring to the front of the car is good or not.

Not sure after that. I didn't have the same issue.

I was hoping to be something simpler since for me seems very difficult to make a new mic line.
Yes all the rest are ok.i will try to directly connect mic and ulf and prave the line ito be ok but instead to have a idefective ulf which much easier for me to change as per seller's obligation.

Many thanks

Where did you get the first mic from ? Was it in the car already ?

There is a mic connection under the centre consol I think, so you could also try there..... It joins there before going up to the roof.....

There is a pic of it here, amongst the instructions for running a new mic wire to the overhead console ;

http://www.roverupgrades.com/rovermicinstall.html

The easy fix was if the mic was faulty, or a connection a bit iffy somewhere....

No the mic was not in car.Bought it together with ulf.Second one bought is a new one.Have seen the site and noticed about mic connection under the centre consol.My car has ashtray instead of cup holder.So i am afraid that order reach the overhead mic connection i will have to remove the all console or not?just few parts of the console and that's it?

Thinking during weekend to directly connect mic on ulf so to make sure that is line problem and if yes then i will see how/if i can start dismalting of centre consol Big Cry

thanks

Sorry, I've never took the console apart.

The only reason I asked if the mic was there already was if a previous owner had fitted one with an after market phone kit and hacked into the wiring somewhere.

Can't help much more, let us know how you get on wiring it directly.....

Hi there.Have connected a mic directly in ulf and normally worked.So decided to check what is happening under the centre console which easier than take it off that what i was expected.
Problem is that i found neither the mic cables connection coming from overhead console nor the wires

connector coming from trunk.Actually i found only one red free connector but it has only two wires.
I am attaching photos of what is under console and hope that u might have any idea???(where to locate mic connectors)

thanks

I've never looked under the console, sorry.

All I know is that it can be tucked away. As your car has the wiring in it, you will not be looking for an empty connector, it will have a yellow and a black wire plus another going in and a brown and white and 2 others coming out. The colours are on the wiring diagram I posted on the previous page.

This picture is taken from the rover upgrades web site. You will have it connected and going to the boot/trunk, so it will be plugged into something ;

You are looking for C2044 on this diagram, with those coloured wires going in and out
