central locking / folding mirrors / upgrade

I purchased a module that will allow the mirrors to fold when the car is locked . My 2007 fatty does not have this built into the system. Im almost there with the install and will publish some info when its complete. For now ive got the unit working as it should folding the mirrors in and out along with the central locking of the car.
To achieve this you need to find the wires going into the mirrors that control the in and out motion. Ive done this today after a considerable amount of time with a meter. The drivers mirror is solved and ive got the correct combination of switching wires. However the passenger mirror seems to be wired differently . that mirror just seems to have 1 x 12v wire controlling both in and out that appears to have a pulse done it which tells the mirror what to do , so im struggling to get the passenger mirror functioning as the drivers one does.

ive done the instal from the switching panel in the drivers door and have not taken off the passenger door card yet, maybe the answer will lie in that wiring ?

has anyone fitted one of these before , any tips ?

Not done one but wonder if the fact that the passenger mirror has automatic tilt if driver's side is selected will make a difference? John

shouldnt make a difference John as the one switch on the drivers side closes and opens both at the same time regardless where the 'dip mirror' switch is...

glad to see you making progress viper Thumbs Up ... - .- -.

no its not that, ive found all the wires that control the mirror dip . The passenger mirror just has one wire that seems to be 12v all the time , which does have a voltage fluctuation on it when the mirror fold button is depressed. The drivers mirror is wired in a conventional way but the passenger mirror is some fancy jiggery pokery.

when I get some more time next week I will take off the passenger door card and try to get at the motor wires direct .

if I do it , it will be a really smart bit of kit, you guys with 2009 + cars don't know how lucky you are!

actually that wiring diagram is of use, what it tells me is that the passenger side does have the same wiring set up, however its from a module probably behind the passenger door card and I will need to run some wires from the passenger side to the drivers side through both door /pillar posts,

thanks , much appriciated

yes stan, great minds think alike , ive ordered one yesterday , just so much easier than running wires through the doors . Although I may need to run a switch live into the door as ive not found one as yet

thanks everyone

Sorry to drag up an old thread but did you manage to get this working?

I have just ordered 2 units based upon the advise offered, and would like to be prepared. Any advise or wiring diagrams would be appreciated.
