Front brake sensor - where to buy on a Sunday?

Hello,

Dismantled the front passenger brake caliper this evening to clean and greeze the whistling brake on that side in the morning and I think I've damaged the brake sensor as the plastic clip that fits onto the brake pad partially started to come apart... there are two pieces of fine silver wire partially visible (about 1cm) coming out of the insulated cable where it enters into the plastic clip.

Can you buy them anywhere on a Sunday for the RR?

Please/ Thanks.

Been there done that got the badge twice. If it clips in ok, and securely, refit it and replace when the shops open on Monday.

I broke mine in 2 and I couldn't find one so left the sensor off and refitted it on Monday. Some ECP are open Sunday's but not the one in derby.

Stripped the brakes on the disco on Fri as I had a wobble and replaced with a new set of LR discs. Wobble has gone, but this time I was careful not to snap the wear sensor! Gently gently prized it out with fingers and was careful not to bash or snap it There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the replies. Have put everything back on and no brake warning light which would suggest the sensor has survived and is still working despite looking a wee bit tired and fragile. I'll get a new one although maybe can fit it another day Whistle

Thumbs Up

I had a tub of copper grease Stan and used that whilst waiiting to get the ceramic stuff. The whistling has stopped. The pads had obviously had some liberally applied copper grease on the backing before as there were gold circles from piston contacts... but no grease left anywhere. There's plenty on now though!

Thumbs Up

If you have alloy callipers, you shouldn't use copper based grease, apparently it will start electrolysis and rot your calliper... Pete
