France

Coincidentally, perhaps, to all this hoo-ha the first episode of Top Gear France has just been broadcast on RMC Découverte (TNT Channel 24, Wednesday 20h45 French time). For Francophone members, this first episode can be seen in “Replay” on http://rmcdecouverte.bfmtv.com/mediaplayer...R%20FRANCE – but hurry, it is only available for viewing until 01 April.
I’ve only had time so far to watch the first 20 minutes of the first episode, but it seems to be following exactly the same format as the GB original, even down to the Top Gear studio. The 3 main characters are very obviously moulded on the Brit 3 of JC, the Hamster and Captain Slow and if they weren’t speaking in Frog-ese you’d be hard put to think you weren’t watching the original, so closely does it follow the original style! It's "bĂ©bĂ©choon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.
20 years ownership of Solihull products, ALL GONE NOW, sniff!
Current motor: Suzuki S-Cross 4WD auto, 1.4 petrol. Oh so reliable! 7 years now and no problems. Oh, all right then, a leaking shocker replaced under guarantee.

Interesting. Almost the only French car in there was dropped from a crane.

It is an interesting legal argument, the use of VPN. For example, you have an iTunes account and you are in a country that is "not covered" by that account so you have to use a different store with different choices or even different prices. Is it then illegal to use a VPN to get to the store you already have an account in ??? I don't know the laws in the various countries on that but common sense says that it should be legal.

Same for Netflix and the likes etc.

I think they are stupid to block VPNs because the next thing that happens is that all kinds of torrent site, Pirate bays, Popcorn times will fill the holes and the "original sites" lose anyway.

But then I'm no lawyer nor have legal training, only some contract awareness due to my work.

As for the American Top Gear, I don't like it, those guys don't have the same chemistry of the Musketeers Smile

Cheers,

Top Gear USA excellently illustrates why the chemistry between the leads is so important and why it's a terrible shame that the Beeb have decided to throw that all away.
One USA host is a racing driver. With two good hosts, he could just manage being the "okay third guy." The other two are utterly abysmal.
