Windscreen Replacement

Morning folks,

This might be a silly question but for anyone with an 09> car, is there anything written on your screen to show whether it is acoustically laminated? (not just laminated) Had mine replaced recently and told them it had to be Acoustic and they said only Pilkington do these. I have a Pilkington screen on there but it does not say anything about being acoustic.?

Thanks

From memory my side windows have "acoustic emblems" on them along with a hammer sign, i had my screen changed as i purchased the car and replaced with a "Saudi spec" "solar reflective" screen (due to the poor scratch resistance of the original pilkington glass) so am unsure what the original screens have on them...

Maybe other members with original glass can have a look for you and see if they have the same sign on the windscreen as they have in the side windows (assuming all 10> cars come with acoustic & anti shatter glass) Thumbs Up

I think Acoustic screens have an "ear" on them in the bottom right hand corner (as you look at the front of the car)

Most cars have side glass acoustic, but not sure about it being standard on the front screen. Shatterproof have a picture of a "hammer" in the same place - again common on sides but not on screens I think.
