Any advice would be appreciated, I have got the IIDtool BT running the beta test version,

Its open for my two rangies (one's gone now) but it can read and clear faults on all rangies

my mate has a 07 sport both times I have read and cleared faults on his rangie its stuffed up

1st one was a hand brake fault I cleared that and the hand brake locked on

2nd one today showed a air suspension fault compressor taking to long to get to pressure

cleared that started the car air suspension went into hard fault (went through the ecu re set procedure nowit
changed)

|So my question is why does this happen when I clear the faults my IID tool should not be able to change anything in his car only read and clear faults

Is it just bad luck or am I doing something wrong............

IID tool are built for specific models except the new Pro , since a Spert has different hardware and software I wouldn't be surprised if you tool is sending completely the wrong signals so stop now before you corrupt something . 2008 MY Supercharged

Cobber I think your wrong............the BT IIDTool

Standard diagnostic functions (IIDTool BT: free of charge on any supported vehicles, no need to purchase a VIN license, L322, L319 and L320)
• Fault read / clear
• Live values
• Control outputs
• Service / test functions

So the way I read that is I should be able to read and clear faults on the L320 but not change anything

Good point I never bothered to upgrade so i based it on the known model , but if you are not getting the results you expect I would still stop until Pat or someone else from GAP can give an answer . 2008 MY Supercharged

Yer we stopped vowed never to have the sport on the hoist again every time I look at the dam thing it stuffs up

I never have a problem with mine go into the ccf change things and generally stuff about with the settings

mind you I still aint got the TV working yet

I am being cautious and saying stop only because I corrupted my CCF by unplugging my tool too quickly and kill'd the car completely and I mean dead and never going to go again , Pat rewrote my files remotely from Canada and I was so grateful I wanted to have his babies practically  2008 MY Supercharged

that sounds like a disaster glad you got it fixed, I back everything up from the CCF before I start to play with mine that way if I stuff it I can go back to the saved settings touch wood I have never had to yet....

I just dont understand with my mates car why when I clear the fault it makes it worse............

Why would clearing the park brake fault cause it to lock on

why would clearing compressor takes to long to build pressure fault cause the Air sus to go into a hard fault

I tell you what his car is out to get me

Hi Guys

Since the faults do come back immediately after a clear faults was done, I would suspect there's something wrong with both systems. I have verified on our side and all is well with the clear function (same firmware version tested on a D3/RRS).

The fact that the suspension ECU goes into a hard fault does indeed confirm this. Depending on the severity or if the problem is intermittent, the ECU will act differently after the faults tests are performed.

Time to investigate further...

I didn't think it was the IIDTool, still might be me though I suppose

But I have no problems with the TD6 or the TDV8 that the Tool is Vin'ed for

But I think from now on I;ll let the experts work on the disco/ rangie
