I debated the blinds but was bothered the dogs would rip them or pull them off.

I tend to agree with this, partly because mine has front tints as well and partly because I do think it looks better. I suspect most won't agree. Another aesthetic plus is it enhances the classic RR 'floating roof' effect, especially when the bodywork is painted in silver.

Any problems with the dark tint to the front side windows at MOT time?

Absolutely none. Sold to me by a LR main dealer and just MOT'd by an independent 2 years into ownership. Never any mention.

The black interior makes the tint appear darker than it is. Si. <This is my name.

I had a very light tint on the a to b pillars .....a nice man in a bmw with blue lights followed me to work last year and put the light meter on them....I had to peel them off Big Cry

The side windows are factory tinted any how to just legal, by putting any film on the fronts will put you past been legal. I'm just saying be on your guard guys, I was lucky, or is that un lucky this ' nice bobby' had nothing to do Laughing

I'm for the tint brigade too and mine looks good with it on. Mr. Green If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

I think tints are the only way to go with prestigious cars, and the FFRR looks the nuts with it.

I think they look great on a rangie.. mine have a very light tint but the darker ones are better for keeping the sun out and for added security etc... I am told they also come in handy if you have ugly kids in the back..!! Whistle

I like the tints, when really clean they are not as opaque as the pictures suggest. Mine...

Like paulmoran2 I have fitted blinds instead of tints which I tend to remove during the winter.
Like tinted windows however they are only fitted to the windows rear of the b pillar. I've often considered making my own blinds in a similar fashion for the two front side windows for use during the day during the summer. Surprisingly I can't find anything in motoring law to stop you doing this, the law only applies to tinted windows.
As far as I can tell such front blinds could also be fitted to cars with rear tinted windows should you wish to extend your sun protection / privacy.
I might be wrong on this of course and would welcome somebody factually pointing out to me why I am. Wink Thumbs Up

I use the Vanstyle blinds here and they are sooo much more useful than tints for all the reasons mentioned above , and trust me tinted windows do not keep a car cool when it is parked , it's only when you are moving and the air con is on do they affect the radiated heat from sun glare ( think about it , how does making an object black make it cooler Rolling with laughter ). As for putting them on the front side windows I guess because they are removable it would come outside the law on tints in the first place . 2008 MY Supercharged

and no ugly kid windows.

Factory tints, rear only, I prefer driving at night with clear windows. The celebs i have in the back enjoy the privacy. Very Happy
