I'd like to be able to have a celebrity tantrum, where you behave completely unreasonably and yet people still run around apologising.

Maybe that's a good idea for a business venture - a place where you can go for a celebrity tantrum? Anyone want to invest in my project?

What you lot may not be aware of is last Tuesday a.m. all was going ahead as normal, it was cancelled late Tuesday p.m., after all the cars for Wednesdays filming had turned up. What a waste of licence payers dosh, and to add insult to injury, the BBC is now having to pay millions (no exaggeration) to the international broadcasters that had brought the series.

Why not just do the show without J.C. until they can sort out what happened? Plus they have made a film for the last episode, bet we wont see that either, even though we've paid for the bloody thing Evil or Very Mad I can see the licence fee going up over this one Evil or Very Mad Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... To hit some one at work = Inexcusable
The BBC behaviour ever since = Unfathomable
That everyone is still making so much fuss = Unbelievable

Things Clarkson has said and written over the years have constantly amused me , and I enjoy motoring shows and TG especially but the passing of a slightly long in the tooth TV show ( and it looks very much like that ) just doesn't seem worth all the fuss . Maybe it's a distance thing .
But people complaining that they cant stand him and therefore he must be off air kind of miss the point of choice somewhat . 2008 MY Supercharged

J.C is not Top Gear, and it existed long before him. Granted he has made it more amusing and mainstream, but, I personally would miss Top Gear more than I'd miss J.C. Why not replace him for the last few shows and see what the reaction is, rather than shelve the whole thing?

I could see someone like Chris Evens doing just as good a job, Steve Coogan is another that springs to mind, there are plenty of Petrol Headed presenters out there.

And if the BBC was so intent on not showing J.C. on the TV, WHY are they still showing all the episodes of series 22 on i player? It does not compute, when the BBC had an issue with Angus Deaton, they just changed the presenter of Have I Got News For You, and it all went on as before. This time they seam to overreacted big time and shot them selves in the foot, and wasted tons of licence payers dosh, what a bunch of Muppets, they should keep Top Gear and get rid of the morons running the BBC. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... All well and good on the surface, but JC writes most of the show for starters.

He's heavily involved in the production of it.

He films a hell of a lot of features, besides merely presenting the show from the studio.

Then there's the TG Magazine articles and the TGLive shows and probably a lot more.

On top of all that, there's the onus of MAINTAINING the ratings and global popularity. Heaven help anyone who thought they could actually improve them.

Now who could realistically do all that? It's more than a full-time job.

Steve Coogan is an arse-licking nob of the highest order, so he's out.

Guy Martin won't be interested in doing all the writing and certainly wouldn't wish to give up his racing.

Chris Evans could do a lot of it, but his Radio 2 show is probably his biggest priority and I seriously doubt he could, or would want to, do both.

So without JC, there literally is no Top Gear.

Couple that with the very likliehood Andy Wilman would leave as well. So the BBC would effectively have to start afresh.

So it's not 'merely' the loss of JC. It goes far, far deeper than that. Si. <This is my name.

Does the BBC own the rights to the name "Top Gear" or are we likely (If the BBC decides not to have JC back) to have two shows aired per week with the same title??
Either way I believe JC will continue presenting a show called Top Gear... It's just for which broadcaster is the question. Regards
