Crumbles Argyll's roads must be busier than I thought if you get TMC reports up there.......................... they are rare enough down in the Central Belt. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I bet it wasn't giving that the A83 was closed yet again at Port Ann this morning for another truck/ car off the road.................................... Strathclyde Police just seem to shut the whole road at Inveraray and make anybody going beyond Loch Gair take the long route via Oban to Lochgilhead (it's very useful to know the forest trails though as if you know the route from the Glashan Dam through to the Lochgilhead Golf Club you cn avoid the blackspot when the road is closed, helps to have a 4x4 too because the trails are a bit rough but still passable in a BMW 3 series if you don't drive like 3 series drivers normally drive Whistle ) 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Hi Wiggs. Finally got round to fitting the digital tuner I got from you, and it works a treat.

If any one's interested, RCA Audio in Cheadle near Stockport fitted it for me for £50 - couldnt be bothered doing it myself, and it took them hours! Ha!

Cheers

Well there is a bit , I just spent a couple of months wondering why my TMC didn't work until I put all my plugs back in

So axle, does that mean with the D4 TV box that TMC will not work unless you go back to the original TV box ?

I did the same conversion a couple of months ago, using the tuner from Wiggs, TMC still works fine for me.
Great instructions are posted earlier on here.

No I'm not saying that the new TV box won't let the TMC work its just that in my hurry to dismantle all the boxes and cradles to fit my new TV I didn't bother to label the cables , we don't get TMC hear so for a few months I wasn't sure until I drove a good distance through Englandsestershire to figure out it wasn't working and in fact the arial pug was stuck round the back of another box. 2008 MY Supercharged

Tuner arrived....... What great speed of delivery !
I haven't yet looked, but is it simply a case of unplug the analogue and plug in the new one. Then work out a permenant fixing/bracket ?
Thanks
Andy

Thumbs Up

Yep ..4 connectors ...just unplug.. then connect to the new tuner . If you dont have RSE ( rear seat entertainment ) you can slot the new tuner down in front of the old one .

Go to TV and press auto ..it will then find all the channels available .

Then when you have time remove the panel and swap the tuner over ..only the top 2 bolts fit as the new tuner is a differnet size ..but its solid and wont go anywere .

Wiggs,
One last question ..........
Do you disconnect the earth of the battery before swapping the tuner?

Andy
