Just a word of warning, as we in the Great South are currently running both analogue and digitial in parallel until the switch off I wouldn't rush to upgrade to digital until the last minute as the freq Tx for digital is considerably lower and In car pick up may not be 100%.

For info, I've got a late 2006 RR with touch screen and had checked with LR and they said there was no upgrade available. I went in my dealer today and there now appears to be one £297+vat. A lot of money but it integrates into the touch screen and just replaces the analogue unit. I'll wait til I get it to confirm whether they've got it right though! Due in a couple of days. Steve

It's Stratstone in Bury. I fancied fitting it myself, but the LR workshop manual on this website is for the older BMW entertainment centres so not sure where the module will be, unless someone can tell me where the analogue TV tuner currently lives in a 2006 Model Year FFRR. Otherwise the dealer reckons should be 2hrs work max ( they've not done a digital conversion before or had to replace an analogue unit) and reckon the software update takes about an hour, so may have to go down that route.

The TV tuner is in the same place as in the previous generation system. It is mounted underneath the DVD changer in the boot. It isn't that bigger deal changing the boxes over yourself as it is just 'plug & play' with the added sting that you need to have the car plugged in at a dealers. To fit should take 30 mins max (even for a complete novice) and the software update really should only take 30 mins as well. If you can talk you dealer into only charging you for part of an hour that could save you some.

keep us posted.....I can get to bury easily. I spoke to my dealer, Guy Slam-on or Sytner at Coventry and he said he hadn't heard of it.

Will do doublejay. Dealer had no problem with me installing it (I just ordered it in the parts dept.) but I'm guessing the catch will be the touch screen updates and how they're achieved. Steve
