2003 Vogue - DSP removal - no sound - sound

I purchased my L322 vogue with not much of the audio system working.
I have done all the usual fixes (pin broken etc) and still no sound.

Have a long trip coming up next weekend so a must was a radio.

I plan at some point to change to the android system but there was always the question of this DSP unit.

I am no audio expert or sparky so you may not want to try this at home.

I set about cutting the wires of the 2 smaller plugs with the thought that the radio audio output must be one of these.

The 2 pairs of wires shown below are the radio audio ones and in my crude way of finding these i used a separate speaker.

I took the other plug with all the speaker wires on it and spliced these between the 2 radio connections , i added a small amp and sub that i had lay around the garage using the (big black DSP connector) red power cable from the DSP connection the white 12v radio on cable and the brown earth.

sound is pretty good considering and the next phase will be a better amp.

That's an interesting way to avoid having to replace a £300 DSP unit. Thumbs Up

I'm sure I read that the BM54 switches modes from providing low line level speaker outs to speaker level amped outs if it does not see the DSP on the ibus. Just like a car without DSP from factory. So if that's true, you could run from the bm54 for car speakers. The sound would be better with a great big multi channel amp in with crossovers in though.

Have you downloaded RAVE ? It has all the wiring diagrams in it. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

in the summer I will add a better amp . as you say a 4 ch . I have the low and high color codes some where for the speakers so I will make a better job of it . but I currently won't upgrade the head unit as need to spend some money on tyres etc and i'm using the trip computer . my ipod via signal is pretty good. thought I'd also fixed the gos but it still freezes now and again . It had a furry board inside which I've cleaned
