engine system fault TDV8

Afternoon all
Just jumped.in the rangey to move it, and engine system fault pops up only for a second and then disappears....press the check button and everything shows ok, it's done it twice in half an hour. Now on charge, just in case battery is a bit low.
Any ideas?

Forgot to mention, although it's only done 5k since service, the service date is flashing up also, and has been for a while, are the two connected?
Bit miffed, as my Indy didn't reset service schedule obviously.

Battery, then top turbo hoses as a place to start. As these are easy to access, replacement instruction in the wiki. Take them off and check for cracks or splits, especially under the protective mesh.

Then get the codes read as these will point out what it is, the check control won't show anything bar low washer fluid and bulbs blown really. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

NMJ
Would a faulty hose throw up a fault on start up, as soon as engine runs, fault disappears?
On charge at the moment, tomorrow I will give it a thrash, and see what happens (or blows up)
I am starting to get fed up with this thing now, every time you turn the key, you are waiting for the dreaded bloody BONG!
And another £1000 + Big Cry Big Cry

If it's doing it at start up when cold it could be the start of an EGR issue! Best not to cane it I case you do damage to the turbos... Get codes read asap my friend...

Craig has a point, and is more likely the problem, but worth checking the easy stuff first.

But get the codes read and it will point you in the right direction. Otherwise you are just guessing. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If it is something like the egr, will it not go into failsafe mode?

Fault codes read my friend... Egrs are reasonable, turbos and ingested vanes are not. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Battery now fully charged again, started her up...no faults
Went for a 25mile drive, all good. Hopefully it was just the battery a bit low, my wife has been using the heated seats and wheel a lot lately.
Fingers crossed, this is all it was.

Did you ever get to the bottom of it? My tdv8 started to show "engine system fault" message at first morning start for a brief moment. After a second or two it dissapears and does not appear again throughout the day. 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue
