So next time I'm looking to do something like this it's Stans' led emporium Laughing

As for glue types and drying times, super glue is not always the best thing to use on plastic as it really needs a porous surface to work properly, that is why I tend to go with a rapid set epoxy, it will stick anything to anything and after the 24 hour curing time is reached you'll never get it apart again. The rapid drys to the point where it's holding by its' self in about 10 minutes. I got mine from Toolstation and it was a fiver, but I know that Wicks do 2 tubes of 5 minutes epoxy which is cheaper. I only got the Toolstation stuff cos there's more in the tube, and I've a few jobs for it.

Forget what I said about the wickes stuff it's gone up in price Shocked

get this if your only doing the reversing lights http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Adhesives+...bes/p72560

and this if you've more jobs that need to be really stuck

Got a feeling that would be a tricky one, Epoxy is chemical resistant, but on the flip side, why would you want to split them again? all the led's are rated at 5000 + hours, that's just over 208 days continuous reversing Shocked
You'd have to be a really bad navigator to clock up that many missed turnings Laughing Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Just done a few sums, I use the FFRR for siting mobile toilet trailers, and I recon that on a really busy day the most I'd be going the wrong way is 2 hours. Normally in a days use 2 minutes would cover total reversing. But going to the working calculation, 2 hours going backwards is 6.8 years over 5000 hours, there is no way the car will be working that long, a Landcruiser only lasts 3 years and then it's scrap Shocked
Normal daily usage say 5 minutes going backwards, that's 164.38 years before you'd have to change the leds, and trust me buddy neither you or the car is going to last that long Laughing Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Steverr, just make sure that you get the ones with a BA9S adapter, and file one of the pins down, then it will plug in to the original bulb holder. As I put 2 panels in each light I cut the ends off 2 adapters and soldered them together so that I could feed both panels from each bulb holder, that way I could go back to original if wanted. I will admit to having to hold the BA9S bayonet in the holder and wrapping it with tape to keep it straight, as it tends to angle over because of only having 1 pin. But this is a good idea tape all the install wires from the holder to beyond the black plugs, to ensure that it doesn't come apart in transit Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Oh one last thing, before I forget, be careful when you put the lights in the boiling water. When I did mine , dropped them in the sink and emptied the kettle on them, and left them for a few minutes, that was OK. But, when I picked the first one up, for it's appointment with the surgeons knife, it dumped and load of very hot water on me, Censored Censored Big Cry . That was the point that I discovered the light was split along one side and half way across the bottom, and the water had seeped in Shocked The other one had gone the same way, but I was wise to its plot and as I picked that one up I watched the water drain out side of the lens Mr. Green Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
