You're right, you most definitely need a St. Christopher (hope I spelled it correct in English) dangling from your mirror and you need a friend or family member to buy you an "angel" (tradition in the motorbike world) that needs to be fitted by that friend in a place to ward of the road devils. It usually is a little bell . MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Had a look at the hose under the expansion that Alisair mentioned. It is indeed rubbing, but in my case on some part f the wiring harness, it's on its way but should be good for a fair few more miles. When I get a chance I'm going to wrap some amalgamating tape round it to prevent it going any further.
