Craig,

If you have your rear fogs on when a car is that close to you then you are one of those annoying drivers that doesn't understand what a fog light is for!!!!

I'm sure you aren't really Smile

I like the idea of using it to reverse though as there is no lighting where I live and the reverse lamps are quite frankly pants.... Land Rover Addict

@craig, being a chinese product the laser light itself might be rubbish but if there's an apparent problem then ,like neil i'll connect to the reverse lights or the fogs ... ... - .- -.

Having just read thro the Roads Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989 with regard to rear stop lights, surprisingly there is nothing to stop you using a flashing stop light on your car.
The rear laser light is when all said and done only a supplementary rear red light and as such can be used provided you don't cause glare to other road users.

The system I see a lot in france that sets the hazzards off after a few seconds of heavy braking, it seem very effective but I dont know if it's standard fit or just somthing drivers do over here.
However I have seen systems that flash the high level brake light after a few seconds of steady that again are very effective and would probably be a good mod. Mine was a blue one! Smile

Definition of “Special warning lamp” as described in the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989

Quote:
A lamp, fitted to the front or rear of a vehicle, capable of emitting a blue flashing light and not any other kind of light.

That system is part of Emergency Brake Assist sir... This system detects when you brake heavily and takes over applying the brakes to their maximum level given the road conditions... It turns on the hazard lights when it does so to warn other drivers to "pay attention" Thumbs Up [/i]
