Alarm going off and tail lights coming on.

Hi Can anyone help. My Alarm keeps going off and tail - lights coming on, by them selves, with a message say Air suspension inactive. Having read the forums, the suggestion was to change the FSR, which I have done today, and also recharged the battery, but after 4 or 5 hours, the alarm has gone off again and is showing the same message. Anyone got any ideas of what to try next..at the moment I have just disconnected the battery to stop the alarm going off randomly..

thanks

how old is the battery? Random electrical gremlins are generally caused by a dodgy battery. would be the first place to look, if its not holding charge it can throw up some random errors, not sure on the lights coming on though..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The battery is only a year old. I also re-charged it using a CTEK charger and so not sure thats the problem.

I also disconnected the Bonnet switch, but still getting the same problem ?

Any more ideas ?

A mouse ate it's way into my wife's car and used to randomly set the alarm off overnight.
A tray of rat poison cured the problem. Thumbs Up Smile

Did bonnet switch. Disconnection, changed FSR, recharged battery, still same issue. Any other help really appreciated..? When I reconnect battery car starts no problem. So I then lock it, leave for a few hours and in the evening the alarm goes off...and message comes up Air suspension inactive, and the rear red lights come on. Bizarre ...

Have to take the negative off the battery to stop it.

Has anyone experienced anything like that ?

Have you checked the main cables of the battery, especially the negative cable connection to the chassis and the positive cable connections at the bulkhead. Also maybe check those cables at their clamp locations for corrosion (sometimes corrosion can go inside a clamp and is barely visible but can eat up the entire cable internally).

Check the voltage at a few points away from the battery to see if it remains the same as directly on the battery. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Have you tried setting the alarm with the internal sensors disabled ie "pet in car mode" when you lock the car?

Ok, some questions/comments

How do I check Brake Pedal switch ?

I have checked the Battery voltage at various points, seems consistent.

I have not tried resetting alarm with pet inside mode so will give that a go…I assume I just press the arm key twice ?

hope one of these finds the problem...

So problem still occurng by have noticed the break lights come on again whilst the car is locked. Any one know how to change the break light pedal switch a suggested. I think this is coming on then draining the battery resulting in the air suspension active message . Thereseems to be nothing wrong with suspension as drives fine suspension goes up and down as normal and the message clears by turning wheel method. If break pedal switch is an easy change then maybe worth trying before giving up and taking to the stealers..
Anyone done break pedal switch change. ?
