United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 V8 Santorini Black
Update *Ivory or Black Int - Advice/suggestion ** Update

So, was about to start looking at 4.4TDV8’s when I get called and move closer to the 5.0SC- that I have been searching for. there are two cars in the hopeful and possible and hopeful running that I am divided on which is a, better value and b, will hold its value later- maybe 2-3 years’ time.

Both cars are Black ’09 5.0SC. The difference are:

Option a, c30k miles, ivory interior with black wood.

Option b, c60k miles, black interior with black wood, vision assist – 1K more expensive than A.
Both are fitted with same toys. Any suggestions/advice to help steer me.

Update- 30.11.14
Update- Option A- holding deposit paid, subject to completion of Inspection report- it is booked into the LR workshop for the checks on Monday.
Spec wise the car has 27K miles, one previous owner, serviced by Lookers annually since 2010.
Has deployable side steps and RSE. Overfinch wheels. Privacy glass.

The will provide 12 months warranty, a service, MOT, GAP insurance to Invoice value, asking for 31K and won’t budge.
There are some stone chips to the bonnet, should I expect them to sort these and other stone chips out.
From previous MOT info- it seems to have required (failed Mot on Aug 14) rear brakes and rear shock absorber which had a serious fluid leak. As the MOT was passed a couple of days later- I am assuming that the both issues have been fixed- so both items would be new and not require changing in the immediate future.

One point that is puzzling me- on the picture below- the date is 2010 and the mileage reading is 27K which is the current mileage. The dealer said that this is something to do with the battery being restarted and not an issue- Is this something I should worry about, enquire further? The have also used the listed the wrong mileage in the add, although this isnt an issue for me.

Here is the link for the car- any further pointers/advice.

Black with black makes a very dingy car, especially with ugly kid windows. I'd have the ivory every time.

A for me too, ivory won't wear as well as black. Or at least it'll show it's age more but it's a nicer place to be. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Option A for me.

I don't like black with black leather with black wood. I drove a 5.0 SC in Glasgow that was black, had black leather, black wood, black pillar trims, black leather headlining etc too.

I really wasn't keen as it was very "black".

Our old TDV8 and current SC were/are Zermatt Silver with Black leather which I think works well as you've got the bright colour as you look over the bonnet. Both had light colour pillar trims and headlining too.

Just my 2p worth Smile

David, out of curiosity, what are were the main differences to you, in the 5.0SC and the 4.4 TDV8? 2011 5.0SC Santorini Black

I've only driven a 5.0 SC once as I ended up buying an 06 plate 4.2 when I took the plunge.

The 4.4 TDV8 is a nice car, loads of power on tap when you need it, power is lower down so it feels effortless. It's quieter at full chat then the SC is too.

The SC had phenomenal power and would get to whatever speed you wanted in the blink of an eye. It's by no means short of torque but it did change down a gear a couple of times where the 4.4 TDV8 wouldn't. The noise in the cabin is more intrusive on the SC then it is on the TDV8 but it's a noise that is more then welcome as it sounded amazing.

I'm sure there will be someone who has driven both more then I have that can offer a better comparison then I can Thumbs Up

Best of luck with whatever you do decided to go and buy Smile

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

The light interior for sure mate, my SC in Nigeria was black inside and with the tinted windows, even in a sunny place like that it was unpleasantly dark inside. That is why I switched to light (sand) interior and clear windows. So much nicer to be in with the light interior IMHO. I would love to add the pano roof to it if the L322 had that option and I frequently have the sunscreen of the sunroof open. It feels so much roomier and pleasant with all the light inside. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

However the black interior on the 5.0AB is the only black interior I like.
