It is not all about looks but since that was the question I answered it like that. Of course the FFRR has to be in good condition, full service history etc. etc. and then you always need a bit of luck.

I suggest to take the buyers guide from the Wiki along and use that to look over the FFRR well. Maybe take a non biased friend (with plenty car technical experience) along as well. Two people see more than one.

Best of luck and I look forward to which one it ends up to be Wink MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Mine's black with black interior. I like it. It's dignified and not gloomy.

That said, half the miles for £1k less. That's a no brainer! Enjoy.

I always search out black (or red) leather as black wears better imho than ivory... Thumbs Up

My new one also has black leather (stitched white) and a white (ivory) leather headliner, so the best colour combo imho Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 V8 Santorini Black

Update- 30.11.14
Update- Option A- holding deposit paid, subject to completion of Inspection report- it is booked into the LR workshop for the checks on Monday.
Spec wise the car has 27K miles, one previous owner, serviced by Lookers annually since 2010.
Has deployable side steps and RSE. Overfinch wheels. Privacy glass.

The will provide 12 months warranty, a service, MOT, GAP insurance to Invoice value, asking for 31K and won’t budge.
There are some stone chips to the bonnet, should I expect them to sort these and other stone chips out.
From previous MOT info- it seems to have required (failed Mot on Aug 14) rear brakes and rear shock absorber which had a serious fluid leak. As the MOT was passed a couple of days later- I am assuming that the both issues have been fixed- so both items would be new and not require changing in the immediate future.

One point that is puzzling me- on the picture below- the date is 2010 and the mileage reading is 27K which is the current mileage. The dealer said that this is something to do with the battery being restarted and not an issue- Is this something I should worry about, enquire further? The have also listed the wrong mileage in the add, although this isnt an issue for me.

Here is the link for the car- any further pointers/advice.

A lot of electronic things have a date they default to after being unplugged. In a FFRR, you have to reset the date and time after a power loss. That could explain the date, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I'd also ask about the MOT issues just to make sure.

I have a VCR (remember those?) that defaults back to 01 January 1995 after every power loss. IIRC, Macs (at least old ones) liked to default back to 1980. It's like having your own, personal time machine. Mr. Green

I don't think the date & mileage are linked. The mileage should be tamper proof.

Yes the date is a default when the battery has either been flat or disconnected... Probably disconnected to change the rear shocker/s as they should be active on that age...

Your M-O-T fail points are usual issues... Rear brakes have a habit of seizing on one calliper (look through the rear wheels and see if one or both are shiney silver? If only one has been changed, insist on the other being done to avoid any brake imbalance issues Thumbs Up
Your rear shocker leak is very common and if adaptive shocks? They cost an ABSOLUTE FORTUNE!!! so if they have changed only one, complain... As its best practice to do any suspension components in pairs sir Bow down

Is the car an Autobiography then? As it has two badges on the rear which is odd. I would deffinatley be getting them to refurb the alloys (properly) no way would I be paying 30k for a car with wheels in that state.

Yes so the dealer says, has the previous owner just stuck the badge on the back? Why the two badges?

I think the person that owned it before thought it very important to have the SC badge in addition to the AB badge. I just prefer to floor the accelerator and let them find out that way Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
