Suspension fault again and IID tool won't clear it

Started getting the usual susp inactive message along with HDC inactive again. I try to clear the fault with the IID Tool but it won't clear. However when I switch off the ignition and turn it back on, the fault clears until I drive off. If I turn the steering wheel to the left, the message display shows "select neutral" and the lo range light flashes on the dash. The lo range led isn't present on the centre console and the fault shown in IID is "32 - canbus fault" indicating a break somewhere in the wiring.
Trouble is- where?

Have you checked for any other faults - ABS, Steering Sensor etc., just in case it is something else causing the problem? .

Battery not holding charge perhaps throwing up random faults?

I haven't checked anything yet. It only started last night. It's where to start looking, which is the problem.

Hi noddy,
The IIDTool will be clearing the fault - the cause of the fault will be so prominent, though, that it is immediately present again despite your best clearing efforts.
I'd look for a faulty ECU somewhere before looking for bad wiring. Similar faults can occur, for example, if you have water ingress somewhere. Then again, turning left makes the fault occur Question ?
Take a look at your SAS live values and see what they are showing (going by the left

Steve
I've just checked and the values are roughly the same when turned from left to right. It was showing around 626 on full left lock and 597 right.

Had a look today. Nothing obvious hanging off or worn. I do notice the conpressor runs on after switching off the ignition and when I start the car again, the fault clears. It's only when I drive over a speed bump that it faults again. I checked the values and the pump runs up to about 103psi but takes a while.
The fault is 32 Canbus. Does anyone know what this relates to?

103 psi sounds a bit low, mine would vary from between 145 (when off road requested) and 185 when stable (and that was with the old knackered one!). .

Checked it again yesterday and it was 187psi which is a bit better
The car only faults when it hits something like a speed bump so it's something simple hopefully.

I've checked both height sensors and the wiring to them. All seems to be ok.

What's puzzling me, is that the fault clears when the car is switched off for a few minutes. Then it faults again when I drive off.

I have noticed something this morning though- when I drive down a steep dirt track on our camping site, I can hear what sounds like the abs kicking in before it faults. The sound of the abs then stops.

I can drive for quite a distance on normal roads before it faults. Seems to be over speed bumps/ drains etc that sets it off.

It has to be a break in the wiring somewhere, but where is a mystery!

Have you checked the compressor air exhaust filter/cone is not blocked?

Meerbusch- it's a new battery.

Gaz- haven't checked that. I've been focusing on wiring as the fault is coming up as canbus fault on IID
