Vogue SE or Vogue with an 'extra' badge?!

Hi all.
Looking to buy a particular 57 plate Vogue SE TDV8 but have some doubts over its kit. I haven't been able to confirm on the V5 if it's a Vogue or Vogue SE and suspect that it might not be an SE. I'm wondering if any of you Guru's out there can help?

It has the rear entertainment system but doesn't look like its factory fitted and the leather has untucked from behind the screen. Is the factory fitted system branded/LR and is it recessed into the headrest?
It doesn't have the 'cooled' seats, only what appears to be the standard heated leather seats.
It doesn't have the Super Charged grilles, only the slat type grille.
It has the 7 spoke Alloys

Is there anything else that I might be looking for?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the best and friendliest RR forum Robbo,

The supercharged grille and side vents will have been standard on the petrol 4.2 supercharged model for that year of car. The slat type grille and vents will have been standard for the car you're looking at. Likewise the design of wheel you describe.

The below historic link is of a genuine car that was sold by respected forum member dhallworth. Maybe you can read the link and compare with the car you're looking at:

Please also see a link for a buyers guide that will hopefully help you:

Others will be along soon to correct me if I'm wrong on any points and to offer further advice.

Thumbs Up

The factory rse is recessed into the headrest, you can normally tell a vogue se by the 2 knobs either side of the clock. The vogue has none and the control for the heated seats is on the temp dials.
The badges on the boot should be right aligned, ie the tdv8 badge right hand edge should line up with the right hand edge of the E of SE.

The supercharged grilles were optional and not fitted to the VSE as standard.

Have a search on here and you will find plenty of spec guides as t what came with what, when. The 7 spoke 20" alloys are correct for the age Thumbs Up

Plus what Ryan said ^ There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the replies:-)
Well it doesn't have cooled seats, which I can't imagine anyone removing such a feature on ordering an SE. There are no knobs either side of the clock and the SE doesn't line up with the TDV8 badge edge. So far, not looking good.

Any other gems to confirm someones 'badged' it? Oh and thanks for your kind welcome Thumbs Up

It has the Venture Cam and some connector in the armrest that I'm assuming is for the phone, side steps, auxiliary heater and removable tow bar. Looking at the images in the Ad http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic12944.html?highlight=vogue+se it looks identical apart from the seats, missing knobs either side of the clock and the badge misalignment.

I want to talk to the garage about it but need to ensure I have all my facts right.

You can check with LR, they will know how it left the factory but I can tell you, having owned an 07 VSE that the 2 knobs either side of the clock are for the heated and cooled front seats. Without this it would be a Vogue.

The RSE was deleted as a standard option in 2008 so conceivable a 57 plate could be one of those and had aftermarket RSE fitted but the seat cooling was always standard.

The S/C grill and black badges were also a trait of the VSE, which was basically a Supercharged model with a diesel engine, the 20" alloys are correct, and also I recall the active cornering lamps were also standard. Do the headlights look round corners as you turn the steering wheel?

In all honestly it does sound like a Vogue which would have a bearing on its value.

EDIT. The Venture-Cam was standard on Vogue and above, and fuel burning heater was even standard on the HSE, I had one of those too.

No venture cam on my vogue Dom.......

But yes without the knobs its a vogue by the sounds of it, see ceegee's avatar for correct vse badge alignment, if the tdv8 badge is under the middle of the vogue badge the it is spook le someone has just stuck SE on the end. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I think the TDV8 badge has been moved too as it doesn't match anything else on t'internet. I don't know if the headlights look round corners, is it obvious to see? I'll call the garage tomorrow and get the VIN and call it through. Does anyone on here have access to the LR records or can I just call LR?
Fantastic site!! Very helpful, thank you Cool

No cooled seats = not an SE! Thumbs Up

An SE should also have adaptive headlights. They should do a "dance" when you turn the ignition key with the lights on. They don't "turn" when the cars stationary.

Ps my VSE doesn't have a venture cam Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Many thanks for all of your replies, much appreciated. I'm quite dubious about its history so will give it a wide berth (although could buy it and kick off with them as a dealer!!)

Be careful - just to confuse things, there's an SE as well as a Vogue SE Laughing

It could be an SE with a Vogue badge added Laughing
