Anyone use there ctek charger using the 12v acc/ cigarette lighter socket ....and does it work ok, rather than the croc clips onto battery?

You will need to make sure yours stay live after complete shut down about 20 minutes, depending on model some or all the power sockets go off line when the car is full asleep . 2008 MY Supercharged

The one in the boot area is also supposed to stay live if you haven't got a tow socket. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984

Thanks guys

The 'Martin route' would have been my first choice alas I have no towbar/socket fitted as yet, I will see if the boot socket is live permanently when I get the RR back as it's in having the FBH checked out today,

Would it actualy need to be permanently live even though it's being fed power ( from the 240v Ctek ) rather than providing power for charging ?

Connect direct to the battery using the comfort charge method if no tow option

I've used both the front cig lighter socket (mine was made live by the dealer when i bought the car) with cable out under door and also the rear accessory socket with cable out between upper and lower tailgate. Being doing so for years. Works really well. Often left charging for months at a time. Ctek are highly recommended. Thumbs Up 2012 5.0L S/C

I use a Ctek connected to a socket in the car without any problem at all.
It must however be a socket that is permanently live to work.
Permanently live means it is directly connected to the battery at all times, conversely a non-permanent socket is fed thro the ignition switch and as such is only connected to the battery when the ignition is on.

I just connect my CTEK to the battery via the connector lead supplied with the CTEK
