And this is why I love it. Gonads frozen to your lungs by the time you get to the top by lift and then sweating like an Amish boy in a brothel when you hit the bar at the bottom! 😄😄😄

Skiing and Range Rovers are the two costs that stop me from retiring, plan to spend Christmas in Zurs. Another that started in their thirties and cant give it up. letters not necessarily in the right order

Stan, can we get a prize here for the best simile on the forum? Disturbing, but memorable. Shocked

Love skiing, but I guess it's what you get used to...
As a kid in Ontario, skiing meant going to the garage, getting out my skis and going skiing! (I'm a cross country fan.) there's LOTS of great skiing around here, but I can't be bothered when I have to get in the car and DRIVE to it.

Few years ago, (pre FFRRS days), we finally got a large dump of snow around here. It's very rare around here. EVERYTHING stopped. No one went anywhere (Vancouverites handle snow about as well as Floridians. Mr. Green ) I needed food, so popped on the skis and skied a few km down the road to the local supermarket. Passed a small child who looked at me like I was an alien. (S)he'd never seen skis. Shocked Shopping was great! Store completely deserted. No lineups! And I found out, Customer Service will look after your skis. Very Happy (Skis don't fit in shopping carts. Whistle )

For anyone thinking about it and not sure for whatever reason. Get beyond that first day or so 'learning to ski' on a car park or uninspiring nursery slope and when you're let loose on the slopes, you will be so glad you learned those very basics and you'll be equally glad you never jacked it. You'll never look back.

Fun, freedom and always good craic with your friends and family whilst replaying the events of the day and planning your adventures for tomorrow.

And for the UK residents in particular, don't forget or discount the 5 Scottish Ski ranges which also have breathtaking scenery, can be great fun and have very good ski schools at very reasonable prices for kids and adults alike (Nevis, Glencoe, Glenshee, Cairngorm & The Lecht) !

We have used theskischool.co.uk many times and they are highly recommended although doubtless there are many other good UK ski schools.

#Ski-Scotland as well !

Thumbs Up

Also remember, you don't necessarily need a Range Rover to get to the slopes.

And don't sodomise your children on the drag lifts.

It was late in the season so the roads were clear of snow - and the VX is great fun in the twisties.

I was meeting a friend at the resort so didn't need the passenger seat.
