I do 50/50 -ski & snowboard alternate days, but there seem to be significantly less snowboards this year - most noticable in the lift queues |

Love going to Zermatt. I'm hoping to go late in the season - but waiting for a good hotel deal. This is the Matterhorn from the Italian side - doesn't look so scary.
If you are going up the Matterhorn, be sure to stop off at the Solvey Hut.

Kurt, many years ago when doing a season in Zermatt, 2 friends and I once climbed the Hoernli ridge in greenflash tennis shoes with my ski boots in a ruck sack and skis strapped on. We then skied off in a couloir to the right just below (well quite a way below💀💀) the red circle for the hut. Flew over in a chopper 2 weeks later and ours were still the only tracks! One of the best days ever on skis for me! |

Brilliant. Do the tracks just bolt on like wheels, or is some complicated subframe needed? |

presume that they would need to lock onto the axle to provide something for the drive shafts to turn against, otherwise the whole track unit would rotate.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
