FYI those bolts are only done up to 84 ft/lbs (if my memory isn't failing me, be gentle) , which is alot less that the wheel nuts at 103 ft/lbs, and mine showed no signs of stud lock. I did have to yank the bar to break them free, but int wasn't more than an 1/8 of a turn before they gave the good old crank and let go.

They don't have thread glue on them do they, in which case a bit of heat first (well away from the brake fluid)? |

Not sure. They looked pretty corroded. Looks like they have not been undone in ages.

A butane/propane torch would be enough to melt thread glue.

Hi chaps, just a couple of points
Did you turn the wheel to move the calliper away from the car? Cos if ya didn't no wonder you was having stress! With the wheel turned it is possible to get over an eighth of a turn on a breaker bar before the wing gets in the way ![]()
You can get these on Fleabay from all over the world ![]() Inventor of the 'Guide-o-Matic automatic wheel alignment tool' Former long term L322 owner, Up/Down graded to a Classic Tractor! |
