Hi Mark, IF your pads have a backing on them, you will only need to put a very small amount of copper grease on the sides of the pad that make contact with the calliper bracket. But if the back of the pad has no obvious anti squeal coating (normally looks like a sticker 3/4 mm, or a couple of 20 mm heavily painted strips) you will need to put some grease on them too. The ECB pads that I used on mine came with the anti squeal shims unattached, and I had to fashion them in the right shape and stick them on. Basically I hacked them up with the kitchen scissors, pealed the backing, stuck them in place and then trimmed them with a Stanley knife. Just a small smear of copper grease on the contact area of the "ears" of the pads, no point in putting anything on the back. Paul Redding

Hi Mark, as Steve said, just a small smear of grease on the ears will suffice. basically the area that you can see between your finger and thumb in the second photo, it is literally the bottom of the ear and the outside face, and only needs to be the thin part

A wire brush and a bit of spray grease works wonders on the sidle pins |

Well, being honest, I had to bail out. Could not undo the 16mm bolts that held the caliper to the hub. The little grub screws were fine though.

I feel for you bud, did I not mention that a 24" breaker bar was a preferred item in the toolbox, sorry! Its such an essential item that I just take it for granted everyone has one, but for some reason they are never included in any master mechanic socket set. And yet I challenge anyone to find a processional mechanic who doesn't own at least 1. I have 4! In different sizes, 4 the same size would be excessive
