IT actually just prys off. You will want to use a plastic pry tool and work your way across the window. It has to slide downward and out. Using some type of lubrication will help. |

+1 as Boostwhore (GREAT name) said. I did mine after I washed it I actually started prying by using a small screwdriver in between the glass and the seal at the outside right end and chased across with a small plastic pry bar. |

AFAIK its just a finisher for the glass, the 2010 glass looks identical if you look on the end of the finisher, i wouldnt mind seeing a pic of a pre 2010 with the finisher removed before i pry mine off today tho |

Can't help with a pic at the moment. No broadband- replying on my iPhone and can't upload pics. I did mine last Feb and had no water ingress. |

Tempted to do this myself now that I have noticed it - though like the others, I would like to see some images of the finished article first. |

"I notice the 2010 has some rubber edging at each side running vertically so will buy these to finish the look, unless its pointless?"

Sorry but i dont, they are about £12 each from LR but dont look to do anything other than "finish" the windows at the sides. Our 2002 - 2009 cars dont have it so probably dont need it either. |

These rubber strips that run up the sides of the tailgate glass on a 10MY are they just aesthetics?

I took mine off the other day, it was looking a bit scabby. The only thing to watch is when the lower trim has been removed you might have a line on the glass or paint work where its been sat for years.
