Was watching a program about independence here in Dubai and it was interesting that they showed a no voter with his placard, speaking eloquently about his hopes and fears, to a yes voter in a council house, in his vest, holding a yes flag upside down and the wrong way round who "wisnae really sure whit a'm votin' fur, but it's an aye frae me".

Clearly he's not going to be reading a report from Deutche Bank on the likely disaster that will follow a yes vote. He'd do better giving his vote to his pit-bull to eat! Censored

Laughing sorry I just noticed this post, don't know how I missed it.

There are those who speak eloquently on both sides, but the unfortunate simplification to "they're stupid" hardly makes any valid point other than showing a personal bias.

Then of course there was the Deutsche Banks predecessor who pointed out all the factors they had failed to take into consideration before reaching their point. Every argument has a counter side left out. 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

Fear the great controller, Russia has walked into Ukraine, the world said pooh that's naughty you're not getting to visit us and we're not sending you our goods. He banned imports of fruit, yes indeed Nuclear warheads are a clear deterrent, he was too scared to just walk in an annex part of a country joining the EU.

Is the arms race declining so we need a new cold war to stockpile?

Perhaps it is personal bias but I can't help but think that those who espouse the yes vote by default are those who will have been watching Braveheart on repeat. Sorry if that offends but I say it as I see it. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Sorry to disappoint but most people know Braveheart was historically inaccurate in fact Scots fought alongside redcoats in places, Bonnie Prince Charlie was French so what though? To reduce your argument to they are a bunch of braveheart watching idiots who hate the English and know nothing hardly gives it credence.

In fact it simply says you are willing to use an old stereotype regardless of the reality.

I am not insulted, nor offended, I am embarrassed that such an argument should be put forward in a modern world. I see racism from people on both sides of what is a decision for a nation and both should be ignored.

Now I am not saying in this post you have been racist, to be clear but it certainly is narrow minded, I don't see the English as Morris dancing crusaders, nor the welsh as... well I shall not go into the stereotype they fire at Wales too. Every nation has a stereotype, created by people who want to demean. What I see is a serious debate that has no room for such archaic sentiment from any corner.

Edit - Also .. I neither have a Pitt bull nor live in a council house (not that there are not millions of decent hardworking people in council houses) another unnecessary slight of hand 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

The biggest issue with trident is what a huge waste of money it is, modern warfare and indeed what various PM's call war or to make it nicer conflict has changed.

Your average terrorist doesn't care if you have trident and to be honest they just attack with weapons we or allies actually gave them to start with. You think IS and their horrendous campaign will illicit a nuclear reaction, what do you think will?

Westminster can't fight IS due to concerns about public backlash of another war in foreign lands what makes you think they could ever consider a nuclear strike and if they did who cares who has them we'd all be Censored 'd.

@Machinehead, you hit on a good point there, (excuse the pun) aside from the deterrent issue, who's waste of money is it, these are the issues I can't seem to get any answers on from the SNP, will Scotland be financially better off and by how much, what about the jobs surrounding these massive sites, also there is no where currently in the UK that could substantiate these sites so we are many years away from relocating them unless we chaperone them to the border and tell them to get on with it. Also the USA would be mighty Censored off so then we just want to alienate everybody just IMHO Thumbs Up

Nuclear deterrent cannot stop every border dispute or minor war or local dispute but we live in hope hope it will deter another "World War".

You clearly believe that most people who've watched Braveheart understand the historical inaccuracies therein? Sadly I think you're deluding yourself.

Considering I've spent a lot of my working life in England and further afield, narrow minded I am not, perhaps more aware of the attitudes of some of the lesser far travelled yes voters than your good self. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

You cited Russia, Russia has walked into an EU signing country and the world has done nothing but offer a few sanctions, tell me how far do they advance before you decide to nuke them, or realise your deterrent isn't working? 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

Cleary you think anyone who does not agree with Better Together is such a person that does watch braveheart and has no clue. How gracious to say 50% of Scotland are morons, I shall not join that point.

I too have worked and lived in England, Wales and even France, I am very well educated , I do not have a slavering Pitt bull, I have family all over the world , including Argentina and unlike you I made no assumption on the background of the person to whom I was speaking.

Had I done so I might have been as catastrophically wrong as you were Shocked because I am a yes voter 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

Possibly shameful to admit that it really angered me, but I refrained from commenting. I'd be interested in what you think, though.

Laughing pun excused. Its a waste of money for all countries in the current Uk, Scottish independence wants to change that on Scotland's side.

The greatest problem is, as the future cannot be predicted, neither side can give you categorical facts on it. You just have to read and decide which makes better sense and whom to believe. Why are there no other sites? there are its just that the powers down south don't like the risk (their words) but it is somehow ok for that risk to be next to Scotland's major city of Glasgow and striking distance of Edinburgh if there was an accident, two thirds of Scotland. The truth is if told they were giving Trident on their doorstep more people would say no we're not. That aside it is defunct as I said.

I do not judge my future on what the USA wants, Tony Blair did and went into a war on the basis of a lie, never found those weapons of mass destruction did he? Since then global terrorism has increased exponentially, we gave the horrid groups ways to turn the minds of the young and impressionable. 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts

I agree that is ridiculous and somewhat stupid, sadly both sides of the debate have a Censored holes that need wiping. I don't see why it is shameful to be annoyed by it.
