Electrical gremlins? long post coming up...

Cant figure out what is going on...
For a few days I've been seeing the air susp inactive message and bong along with the following:
no indicator flash on door locking/unlocking
even sometimes not being able to lock the doors
no steering wheel access movement on turning off the car
erratic mirror dipping/going back to memory position going into reverse
car not recognising the key fob when in proximity and releasing steering lock

I thought it was a flat battery since it is very similar to what happened when I had to change out my battery 8 months ago

Bought a CTEK MXS 5 charger thinking this will solve the issue since we just did a fairly rare 250 mile journey with air con, lights, rear power socket in use and assumed the battery was drained.

According to the CTEK the battery has ok charge - since it got to step 4 after a couple of hours.

Connected the IIDtool today and got:
EAS - 33--k bus fault
Instrument pack - 87--K bus fault

The EAS fault cannot be cleared - update failed

Also some of the ECUs say "no comm with ECU" when I try to read the faults.

Any ideas? Should I start a thread?

Right thanks for the input. battery is charging again. I will let it go through the complete cycle. Might take a while because the car is outside in west wales and I can't leave it overnight.
Air suspension panel lights have gone off now, which is new too.

No clues from the iid fault codes?

Hi Guys

The Controller software is installed in conjunction with the updater software (PC only) and will work on V3.0 and up. It can be found here :
Start->All Programs->GAP Diagnostic->IIDContol

Instructions on how to use it are included in the latest version of the user manual, page P10.

Cheers

P.S. SWMBO's : same issue here Whistle

Thanks Patrick, found it, can't wait to try it out Thumbs Up .

I've not up dated my non BT iid tool but what are the two differences in the versions , 2.17 and 3 ?

will the 2.17 work with the lap top aswell ? If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

I have a couple of queries. Sorry if they have been covered before but this is a very long thread.

One of keys no longer works to set/unset the alarm but will work in the ignition. Can I reset the key with my IID tool?

I service my car myself, can I reset the service indicator with the tool?

I have been through the various menus but can't seem to see these two items.

I have a 2003 TD6 if it makes any difference.

Thanks in advance. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Welshdragon: This thread explains whats in V3.0 http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic22489.html?highlight=iidtool

And yes, V3.0 is required for using the PC controller software. Also, reading the latest user manual is a good place to start.

Mikeyjd:

Key: first, you should verify the condition of the battery or replace it (refer to your owners manual). The immobilizer (anti theft, to start engine) and lock / unlock functions are separated in the remote. The immobilizer does not require any power from the battery while the lock / unlock do. This explains why it can still start the engine.

Service interval reset: this function is not included in the tool for the moment since it can be done without a diagnostic tool. Do a quick search here and you`ll find the procedure. We will eventually add it to the tool also since it speeds things up.

Cheers

Just wanted to say how good the IID Tool is. Thumbs Up

However, I've a few questions which I'm sure can be easily resolved:-

1. I've tried activating the auto lock to lock the doors when moving, but it's not doing it. The changes are saved. Is there anything I could be doing wrong?

2. Does a 2007 model need an instrument cluster reset? Would it be of benefit?

3. I can't get my service indicator to show. I can get it via the plugged-in IID Tool but never on the dash display on startup. Is there something I'm not doing correctly?

Scotland 2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black

Just plugged my 'new one' in and it says the battery has 12.2 Volts when everything is 'off'. I believe that's a healthy 12.2 Smile

Couldn't get it to tell me anything else due to my ignorance regarding not knowing how to navigate/ what buttons to press so time to read the get started manual methinks Mr. Green

Sent my £25 ownership change/ VIN code fee to GAP today so hopefully not too long now before I can have a play Thumbs Up

Can't get IID working

Hi,

With engine running, upon plugging the non BT IID tool in, as pictured, the car shows the 'IID tool Ready' display in accordance with the instructions and then within a second or so, displays 'Voltage: 13.8V'.

However, as per the getting started instructions, I press the Resume/Enter steering wheel switch and yet nothing happens, therefore I can't get the 10 digit code to send to GAP for my VIN unlock procedure. The blue LED light on the IID tool displays a pulsating flash when plugged in.

Basically, I can't get the thing working. Has anyone please got any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Apologies for the upside down pictures... iPad quirk!
