Maybe the particle filter is glogged up due to lot of town driving ?? Or a turbo hose has split, seems to happen from time to time. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I did think that Eugene, as my dear wife has been using it lately for a lot of stop/start driving.

P023D, something to do with your turbo, P0480 low speed cooling fan - if you google these (as I have just done), there is quite a lot of info, a good thread on RRsport leading to Disco 3 with a few things you can check.

I did find some details about these kind of codes. Most pointed to a MAP (or was that a typo and should be MAF) sensor, getting clogged up.

It may not be a typo. The MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor sits just behind the air filter, measuring the amount of air flowing in. The MAP measures the pressure in the inlet manifold and is a lot harder to reach (well on the SC models, it is fitted on the firewall side of the engine).

An 08MY shouldn't have a DPF, so my money is on a split turbo hose |

Spooky - Ive just posted the on this very subject on another forum on here. Had precisely the same occurrence a few weeks ago - but mine had not been start stop it had just ferried us 350 miles in luxury. But Day 1 same bing-bong and rectification as you describe. By day 2 and 3 I could predict the precise place on a hill it would happen. Met up with my indie, engine cover off - n/s bank, split you could put three finger in hiding behind the mesh. I had some other work done; new discs and pads up front, and new wiper blades all up = £380, which makes me think that the hose and fitting was about £60+£40 hope you find this is your problem |

Not an expert, however having seen the sub 45 second it took for the indie to find the problem, here's what he did should you choose to try it.
