It might be easy to understand but as Trommel has pointed out, in many cases it's just plain wrong. You can reduce boost pressure and stil get more air in an engine and get more power. You can also increase it and get less - especially with a petrol engine. If people can't understand that then get them to look at the torque curve, that's more reliable, or better still - leave it to people who can understand. |

Well after finding a suitable place to put an intake duct in a stealthy place in the front bumper I've ordered one of them fancy enclosed air filters. Full write up in a separate thread soon ...

The heatsheild I have keeps the filter side about 20 degrees lower than the engine side. I'm not to bothered about the duct getting hot as my pipe work gets to about 90c and inlet temps don't rise higher than 50c under sustained hard driving. It's unlikely that the heat would transfer to the air too much anyway.
