5.0 IS more economical (just)

Agree with Gaz, was getting 25 mpg being 'gentle' with the 5.0 on the motorway. Could never get more than 22 mpg from the 4.2. But then you just have to hit the loud pedal and it all goes horribly wrong  SDV8 AB MY 2019

Yup I got a genuine 26.5 without realising I was being frugal. Just slow traffic on M1 from Midlands to London. I was doing between 50-80 without any blasting. Some of it on "Adaptive Cruise" which I love by the way. I too could never get past 22 on a 4.2 so there is a difference.

Haven't looked at the fuel consumption on mine but totally agree about the adaptive cruise: it is brilliant, love it to death.

Final reduction to £29500 must sell ASAP first to view will buy. I have an offer of £29000 trade sale so it goes soon one way or another!

Yep, faster and more economical than the 4.2, mainly due to direct injection and more modern tech on the motor.

Mine does 16 towing a caravan, averages about 21 but can be coaxed up to high 20's on a long motorway run. And No, as it's my "Good" car I don't care about MPG. My work hack is a different matter.

BTW, that's a very wholesome price too. It was over 90 grand when new. Complete bargain. That there, just run in and looking splendid or a new FordVauxWagen repmobile with zero panache. Yeah, exactly.
