Not a TDV8, no. Have used it on a Merc 816 7.5 tonne lorry though. It was also quite a while back too but the experience wasn't good TBH.

An FF would probably cope with it OK as its designed to run fine in much hotter temps than the UK generates.

I didn't even think you could do LPG conversions to diesel cars.

Prop, hauliers use whatever they can to reduce fuel expense. UU for example power some units mostly from the gas from sewage! Maccies recycle their drier oils now, and some long distance ones have gone all veg and just leave the truck idling when parked up overnight as they are fine for about an hour before the temp of the veg drops too much, and even then the night heaters have been known to be plumbed in to keep the block and tank warm and not just the cab Those are few and far between now as it only became worthwhile recycling used veg when it was cheap and really filtering and dewatering it which a little bit of petrol can help with but isn't always good long term for a diesel!
