Splash Screen - On Too Long?

Just noticed that if i unlock and then lock my car without putting the key in the ignition the logo stays on the screen for 10mins after locking. The car is a late 04 with touch screen. Recently installed a 2009/2010 nav disc, not sure if it has always done this as i have not had the car that long. Can this time be altered? Would it benefit from the fuse pulled to reset? Thanks. Confused

Once you have unlocked the car you are waking up all the systems in readiness to drive away. After locking these systems will slowly shut down in sequence taking a total of about 18 minutes until there is no longer a drain on the battery. Discovery 4 HSE

If you want to test how long yours takes to switch off just pop the bonnet and 'fool' the bonnet open/light switch, then plug an ammeter into the battery, switch off and watch the amps slowly decreasing. Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes total.

If you are getting flat batteries then its a good way of proving a drain, how you would find out what system was draining it is anybody's guess! Discovery 4 HSE

Also when I had my first L322, and the 2 Sports the dealers have always recommended lowering the suspension to access mode if leaving the car for a while as this also tells the ECU's that you might not be returning for a long time and it puts everything into sleep mode sooner 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
