I managed 99.44 litres yesterday, supposedly into a 100 litre tank. Even took a photo!

IIRC, 0.56 litres is almost exactly a pint. Not much for a FF to live off...

I decided to stop in Dijon for lunch and petrol. The needle was below the lowest marker, and the range showed 25 miles. However, once I came off the autoroute and started pootling in traffic it dropped fast - down to 13 miles within 4 miles off coming off the autoroute! Quite relieved to see a petrol station.. Range Rover 4.2 SC

110! I am impressed - at your nerves of steel! I might be prepared to try running it dry doing laps around the forecourt, but not otherwise.

Im sure they do sir yes... Mine needed a new tank pump hence the running it low

Rarely gets below half these days

The last owner claimed that he had run out in mine with 70 miles showing on the range so have been nervous of running it too low.

Last weekend, with the needle at about an eighth of a tank and 70 miles on the range, I brimmed it and only got about 85 litres in.

Surely worth the risk of delving lower on the fuel gauge if you guys are getting 100+ in?? 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

The FFRR has a tank capacity of 106 litres according to the handbook. Add in a bit for the various pipes, filter etc and probably 110 all told for a completely dry vehicle.

It's a brave man who runs down that low to get 100 litres in. I get a nervous twitch when the light comes on.

the pump might have said 99.44 litres Gregg but can you be sure that was the amount that went in the tank.... ... - .- -.

Bring back gallon cans to buy fuel in, not these new fangled pumps!!

I regularly pull in to the petrol station with only dashes on the range indicator...

The most I have managed is around the 110L mark too.

I've let it get pretty low at times. I'm 4 minutes from the US/Canada border and petrol is a LOT cheaper over there. Filling up in the States can be compared with LPG in the UK: much cheaper and the car still works.

I did manage to stall my V8 Disco1 300m from the petrol station one day. I went around a roundabout, and the remaining teaspoon or so of fuel disappeared!

Unbelievably, three petrol stations together and none had a gas can I could borrow for five minutes. Fortunately, a fellow motorist helped me out and she fired up immediately once that was some petrol in there.

Being a relative newbie I see I am also a bit chicken as I refill just below the quarter - my old p38 used to run out on the quarter the needle used to register full for a long time after a fill up though

i've learnt the hard way of not running the car that low - fuel pump in SA cost me R10k (GBP560) - after that i made (and is still doing that) of filling up when it reaches ¼ tank

I forgot to check most of the time but once I had it at 0 miles for about ten miles when I got it and it took 165 quid to fill to brim now I let it go to half then 60 to 70 is easier to stump up  _____________________________________________________

I've often in my previous RR driven on 0 for more the than a few miles. Once or twice I've ran out of fuel, using just arriving home!

Or more than likely the issue arrises in the morning, it then won't start.
