Where to find a 4.4l tdv8 body shell

hello guys, i know i've already started a wanted thread on the for sale section but i am asking here as maybe some of you could know where by any chance there would be a way to find a Shell for a 4.4l tdv8 RR (i think 2011-2012.)

i've just bought a rear end crashed tdv8 as i thought there would be a way to fix it but the chassis is not in good condition and i would be looking for a tdv8 4.4l shell to fix mine.

do you think i could find a shell somewhere in the uk? does not matter if it is from a crashed car as i can fix lots of things and as the tdv8 would be used as a project.
but i need only a 4.4 tdv8 shell which is very hard to find.

if someone know about any breakers somewhere having one in stock please let me know.
will be much appreciated!

LR still have some shells in stock but its a LOT of work to swap over from one shell to another, its about 2-3weeks of work.

you may be best getting a quote from Swiss LR and UK LR thru Dan @ Duckworths and then when the UK one is cheaper, drive over with a trailer and bring it back with you Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

i am not scared about the work to do.
but the problem is still that the one i've got now has been declared as crashed and there is a very expensive way to unlock the registration certificate.
or i need to sell it overseas when fixed which i dont want to do.

still with a new shell, it will be cheap finally, but need work to do for sure!
do the new bareshell comes with a new v5c? as the chassis wont be crashed anymore and as it would be the easiest and cheapest way to make mine roadworthy again. crashed cars need a big inspection when fixed and this could cost me too much. so with a new shell i will get a way to not do that!

You could think anything . If there is a serious seller i will provide pics of my rr and copy of reg card without a problem.
My car is listed as crashed and so i could not register it again with that shell
.and without paying an expensive expert to check the repairs

For £3200 from Dan I don't think you can go wrong.

Budget another £1000 for hooking a trailer upto something and driving over to pick it up as i don't think delivery to somewhere outside the UK would be cheap!

TBH I was expecting a 5 figure sum, and dont forget you'll get a decent amount of cash back for weighing in the old shell. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I know the engines and electronics are all different, but have the shells changed. Is it worth getting a tatty 2003 with poor interior and a blown engine and just transfer everything from the newer one onto the old one?

Cam Tech Craig may be able to tell you but I do remember that the lights have different tabs etc. (for the 2010 conversions some brackets need to be bent/removed).

I can imagine the gearbox and drive train and engine mounting points to be different due to different engines/gearbox etc.

I would be careful using an older model body shell and go for a new Duckie Dan shell of the correct vintage. That way the car becomes a much newer model and everything should fit well. Would be a waste to do all that work of stripping the older parts out and then to find out that you need to do all kinds of mods. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

for 2006MY => the tabs need cutting on the wings IIRC

but then the rest should be minor changes only and more cosmetic.

IMO i'd go with a new shell and rust proof it from the start in the known worst parts to give it an even better life compared to most. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
