Adaptive/Cornering Lights & DRL Wiring

I have had the adaptive/cornering headlights that came in my FFRR refurbished as they were leaking and had LEDs added at the same time and fitted all new bulbs (except xenons)

I have tried to get the adaptive bits to work without success as far as I can tell. I have tried lights on and in auto with car in P, D and N indicators on and off an turning the wheel lock to lock but the extra lights do not illuminate. One of the lights does show signs of minor melting (was there when purchased) so could the previous owner have turned them off (I have checked using my iid but no obvious option for turning on/off).

If I knew it would fix it I would buy a new module but don't ant to spend a couple of hundred if not needed or if it won't fix the problem.

All other lights work fine as far as I know with the possible exception of the puddle lights in the door mirrors.

I tried to wire the LED DRLs as per the instructions from the supplier (wire to connection in box in left of engine bay) but although this got the lights working I also got all sorts of warnings for reduced power etc... on the dash which went when I removed the wiring so don't really want to wire them there as a running car is more important than the DRLs.

Does anyone know of an alternative and safe connection to pick up power for the DRLs ideally outside the big box or one where I can just fit an extra spade fuse via an adaptor to an existing fuse. If not which wire is the side light and I will look at possibly linking the LEDs t them although this is the second choice.

Any help suggestions appreciated. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

i'd connect the drls to a drl switch which you can get of ebay for around a tenner, where to wire up to can be found if you do a forum search..

Not 100% sure from the search but I think I need something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRL-Daytime-Runn...233540bff9 wired to the battery terminals and the LEDs. Hopefully this won't result in reduced engine performance.

Had a similar unit built into my DRLs fitted to my old Pathfinder which worked ok and dimmed the DRLs when also connected to the side lights.

Still need help on the adaptive/cornering lights not working There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

DRL fitting sorted hopefully with an ebay link direct to the battery.

Still looking for help with the Adaptive/Cornering lights. For information the warning lights comes on for a couple of seconds when the car is started along with the airbag and brake warning etc... then goes out. Trying to work out if the Adaptive/Cornering lights are working (head lights and main beams work fine) or if maybe they have been turned off. No obvious light related codes from IID.

Build sheet indicates that it has "Adaptive Headlights BiXenon [064DI]" and lights have the extra bulb in with the side light (has worked at some stage as minor melting of surround).

Any help suggestions appreciated. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Mine did this when the battery was low. Check the voltage after the car has gone to sleep. Does it show the warning every start up or just the first one ? Ian

Battery shows a good charge and no other problems. The light only comes on with the other normal warning lights to show that they are working and then they go off, as far as I know they come on and off every time the ignition goes from off to position II. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

LED around the headlights wired up via a £10 switch directly to the battery. Also Main beam turned on as DRL via IID Tool. Now just need to sort the cornering lights to see if I can get them working or find out if they are. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

The bulbs are OK as far as I know, but the lights don't come on with the replacements I fitted or the originals that where in the units when I bought the car. The original bulbs looked ok (i.e. no broken filaments) and the new ones are LED.

Stan, I also got an email notification saying you had commented "are you sure you have them.." but can't see this on the post???. Is there a simple way of confirming 100% if I have the cornering light set up as opposed to a PO having just fitted the headlight units in the past. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t
