Mine comes on if I open a door or lock/unlock all through the year ... come rain or shine!

Ok thanks! If it's for engine preheating that makes sense! 2004 range rover vogue |

If the combustion fan operates when the car is unlocked or door opened (or bonnet) then the PCB is damaged

If that is the case Is it worth repairing? Car seems to run great even in this icy cold weather! If it doesn't warm the cabin etc doesnt have any real purpose IMO? 2004 range rover vogue |

If operating correctly, after a 30 min cycle you should have a pre-heated engine and cabin. |

I don't notice any cabin heat so I presume something's wrong! It's defo not on for 30mins. Max of 5 mins then turns off! If engine doesn't start it turns on after unlocking or door opening then turns off after 1 min or so? 2004 range rover vogue |

As above - the behavior you are getting is typical of a PCB failure, same as mine |

By PCB I presume you mean printed circuit board? Is the part of the heater or separate? Easy swap or whole unit? Thanks 2004 range rover vogue |

Yes its part of the heater, easy to access and reasonably easy to repair (or there is a guy in France that will do it for you) |

Easier yes but cheaper to fix existing one - pennies for the resistors or £45 for French Mike to do it for you |

pretty sure you need to link the 2 water pipes with a piece of 22mm copper pipe and jubilee clips otherwise you may loose your coolant. Oh and blank the fuel pipe just incase |
