^ I agree...

I think if the L405 is the evolution of the RR's and we call it a FFRR, and we exclude the RRS and the EVOQUE, by the logic the classic and the p38 also should be called by FFRR's, because the L322 is the evolution of the P38A and the P28A was the evolution of the classic. Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

For some strange personal reason I like the idea of FFRRNG!

could that be the NG on the end nick? Laughing

FFFRR or FF4RR/ FFRR4 'fullfat four range rover' could be an option

I was always under the impression that the term "full fat" referred to a "proper" RR as opposed to the RRS etc? On that basis the L405 is definitely a FFRR!

As an aside, whilst I understand JLR's marketing strategy (i.e., call more stuff Range Rover, get more people to buy themselves a "Range Rover", make more money…..) I have long thought that the RR term should have been preserved solely for the FFRR (in whatever flavour!).

The RRS should have been called the Discovery Sport.

The Evoque should have been called the Freelander Sport. Or the Land Rover Evoque.

They're not Range Rovers!! It cheapens the brand IMO.

I always thought the term "full fat" encompassed any only "Range Rover" model. So not including the Sport etc.
I consider a P38 to be full fat and even though I don't like then L405 as much as the L322, I would certainly class it as full fat.
Personally I think it's unnecessary and confusing to introduce an new acronym such as FFRRNG and just continue as always by stating FFRR and the model year.

Most seem to talk about the latest as the "L405" on here. Even the section devoted to the new one is "Range Rover 2013" or "2013/L405" I must admit that I don't refer to mine as a FFRR and in the same way I do not naturally think about the P38A or Classic as FFRR.

What is happening over on the RRS forum reference the L320 vs L449 RRS debate? Same questions?

Does there? The new RRS is just called the new RRS. Why can't this be the new FF?

We call the P38 "the P38" and the Classic "the Classic". Full Fat only became necessary to distinguish between lesser Rangies and the Meisterwerk since the introduction of the RRS. It was not an L322 specific name, it was a way of setting the top of the range apart for those that don't understand.

Following on from the "Emporer" line of thought we, at the risk of intense flaming, should be referring to the Classic, P38A and the L322 in the past tense and the FFRR as the current RR on sale?

Hard hat and bulletproof vest now on.
