Hi all

My 2010 MY S/C AB has noticeable wind noise from the drivers side A pillar when I get to around 50mph, the inner seal on the body looks ok condition wise as does the seal on the door, is it more likely that the external trim is the culprit?

A 2003 Vogue I owned a few years ago had something similar and the dealer removed the external trim and fitted new rivets / plugs to tighten up the seal between glass and trim but that doesn't look too bad, all rivets look tight although there is a slight gap between screen and the seal under the trim?

Sorry if similar posts have been made before, I wanted to ask based on my issue specifically.

had a similar issue in october .
the A pillar cover was loose. the rivets were ok on the door seal side .
the A pillar cover needed a firm push top middle and bottom and it clicked back in. 2011 4.4 TdV8 Nara Bronze

Can also be the rubber strip in the rain channel. Mine came away at the front and was like a ski tip at speed so caused a drone noise. Fixed it down and no more noise!

@ goldsax, will give the pillar trim a good press to see if its that.

@ Dolphinboy, how did you fix the seal underneath? Do you mean the one that makes contact with the screen?

Sorry wasn't clear! Can't take pictures as it was my prevIous rr and my present one has roof rails so it can't be seen.

The rain channel on the roof above the drivers door/side, running front to back. There is a rubber strip. You should be able to see it if it is sitting proud. Stuck it down with rubber glue/ bostik type.

Where about on the A pillar is the noise coming from/ does is sound like a window is partially open?

Ours had this issue after a brand new door was fitted this year and the noise was directly in line with the driver's side outer mirror casing.

Intrusive Wind Noise - Manifested from 38mph and sounded like the driver's window was just open at the top although the window was fully closed. It transpired that when the wing mirror housing had been put back on the new door, the wing mirror housing/ a seal aligment were slightly out. There is apparently a Land Rover Technical Bulletin that main dealers have about the issue that affected ours which has since been remedied.

It sounds like it comes from the front corner, there's no draft between door and A pillar from inside the car so perhaps it a whistle from air getting under the A pillar trim and not being able to go anywhere?

There was no draft with ours.
