its the speed of the fan rather that the heat setting..... it should be variable controlled by a dial.... but it either full on or off, hence i think that its the resistor...

Given the fan is controlled by a switch at the rear of the consol and the fan is located at the rear of the consol I would hazard a guess that the resistor is located somewhere near to the switch / fan.
I would pull off the access panel below the fan switch / heat control switch and have a look.

This is wha the Desription and Operation section of the WM says

Rear Blower (High Line System Only)
The blower is installed between the front seats, in the rear face air duct, and consists of an open hub, centrifugal fan
powered by an electric motor. Operation of the electric motor is controlled by a thumbwheel on the rear passenger
face vent via the ATC ECU and an output stage (voltage amplifier) installed in the outlet of the fan.
The thumbwheel operates a variable potentiometer which outputs between 1.25 V (blower off) and 5 V (maximum
blower speed) to the ATC ECU. The ATC ECU then outputs a proportional control voltage between 0 and 5 V to the
output stage, which regulates a battery power feed from the rear blower relay to the blower to produce the related
blower speed.
The rear blower relay is installed in the rear fusebox and energised while the ignition is on. 2016 3.0 Vogue

My rear blower blows hot or warm air unless the blower is turned up to full then it will blow hot or cold depending on temp setting. Is this likely to be the resistor? There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Rear blower output stage or FSR location

Rear blower output stage or FSR location. I had to unbolt the center console and lift the back up to get to it. It's screwed into the bottom right of the blower in the center console.[[img]img]
