England

Took son for a trip to Southampton today for his theory driving test. "WE" passed !yay! 94% on theory, 85% on perception.

Now for the practical which will be in a couple of months time, followed by the hike in insurance premium once he is allowed to drive around on his own. Fortunately, the equal opportunities requirements on insurers make things less worse. .

Just a thought...

I remember the increase in the family's insurance rate when I got my licence. With hindsight, we realized that, since I only drove the family car on family outings, it would have been much cheaper to keep the learners permit as long as possible. However, things may be different in other jurisdictions.

Got an invite to JLR on Saturday.

Tried brand new FFRR Supercharged on their off-road course, Evoque & Freelander on jr off-road course, F-type & XKRS on race track Shocked , and XJL AWD on a simulated ice track. Lots of fun! Fantastic day out.

Finally, a few photos. I did a write up for our local group (Roverlanders of BC). If there's interest, I'll post it.

Definitely interest - esp about the Jags. Would like to read it if you'd be kind enough to post.
