Whats a fair price for the following work

Hi

What would be a fair labour price for the following work at an independant (I have brand new parts)....

Replace radiator
Replace water pump
Replace thermostat
Replace expansion tank
Replace battery
Replace drive belt

Many thanks

I second what Stan says re CTC. I am sure he is a good bit cheaper on labour costs in comparison to Berks LR as well.

Barring any other issues, it's @ 8 hours work (probably less), water pump being the most tricky. Given you have all the parts, £200 - £250 ? .

Do some garages not like to use customer supplied bits?

Maybe it's me cynicism, but I'm sure part of the profit is in the parts? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Yes Alan you are correct, usually 5-20% trade discount is applied (but then we do have to purchase and bankroll parts purchases). For us, it's also a quality & warranty issue too...

I agree Craig, by Bro in law has a habit of buying things and then trying to find tradesmen to fit, and is surprised when they walk away after he tells them he has his own bits.

As you rightly say, if you fit cr@p parts supplied by the customer, you get it in the neck if they fail............ Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

"Trade prices"are a "trade secret"...sssssshhh!

The discount i get on pretty much everythin in relation to list price for plumbing bits and kitchens, windows, bricks, etc etc is staggering, mind you i do spend a lot with most of our merchants...

Fortunately i dont sell stuff on as i only do new build, but its where some of my subbies will make a small profit in addition to the labour. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
