Revs rising to 3000 rpm when climbing a small hill | |
OK, last week my wife was driving our L322 (2003 4.4 Petrol) into Salisbury from Devizes. Through one of the villages (Shrewton) there is a slight hill as you are coming out of the village. Normally the car drops down a gear with a bit of throttle applied to keep to the 30mph speed limit.
On this instance though, she said the gearbox dropped down a gear, but then the revs started to increase to 3000 where they stayed at 3000 until she was forced to pull over and switch off the ignition. On restarting the car all was OK and its been OK over the weekend.
Any ideas? Sticky throttle? if so, where to dose it with WD40?
(There are no errors showing and the gearbox / TC was completely rebuild 2 years ago, car has done approximately 8000 miles since rebuild. Mileage now is just over 100K)
