4300k is also the standard colour temp fitted to Range Rover HID's. As Stan says the 6000k bulbs will not be as yellow as the 4300k. From my experience the 6000k bulbs produce a slightly colder almost blue tinged white. But I guess its all down to your own interpretation.

Take a look at the link below which is a pretty good reference to HID colour temps.

just another point i forgot to mention, is if you have upgraded your side lights to leds ,they will probably be 6000k so your new xenon bulbs will match better.. ... - .- -.

Scotland 2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black
D1S HiD bulbs & 5000k

Can you en - light - en me please chaps?

I've previously bought bulbs from powerbulbs.com, a firm I found quick, reliable and reasonably priced.

I've just visited their website seeking out 5000k bulbs and noticed a couple of things:

Adverts for 5000k bulbs - some say 'For off road use only', indicating that they might look good but are illegal (but I know Stan knows his onions so I'm not challenging, am just a bit confused)?

Also, Bellini has got fixed up with a pair of headlight bulbs for £30 and yet the below link for D1S (is that the type of bulb we should be buying?) shows that the cheapest bulbs are over £50 which makes the £30 ones sound good but... too cheap?

I'm seriously interested in a Halo/LED headlight upgrade and would want to do all of the bulbs in the unit so am just trying to understand what you can and can't do, what looks correct and what's legal etc (maybe this should be a stand alone thread Stan for dim-wits like me Wink )

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs Up

i've never seen an exclusion like that for 5000k bulbs Ryan, its only the temperature/light colour rating unless the one you saw was a higher 55 watt one and not a standard 35 watt ..of course when you get above 6000k to the blue/purple colours then that would technically be illegal.

D1S is the correct type and can normally be found at around £30 for the pair on ebay.a quick search came up with something like these.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D1S-Factory-Fitt...5655a018c5
as with anything like these cheap ones there is a possibility that they will be pants but from my own experience i've never had any problems with the xenon bulbs..i would also only buy from dedicated 'bulb' ebay sellers rather than sellers that sell allsorts..

on the front of my range i've replaced the main beam halogens with 'white' h7 colour bulbs off ebay @ £8 for the pair delivered.
the corner lights have 'white' h8 bulbs , again £8 off ebay..and the side lights have 6000k smd's in them.
you could replace the fogs with h11 'whites' but in mine i have leds which are connected to a drl switch..

i hope this helps Ryan Wink ... - .- -.

Sweden 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Giverny Green

On my 2003 Vogue my left hand low beam began to look reddish in color tone.

I ordered these pair of lamps on Ebay, very cheap and took a week to arrive.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-2-Lampadine-Xe...0765675692
Works perfectly. The RH side is more work, the air filter box needs to come out for access to the back of the headlamp.
But the lamps are very easy to swap, no tools needed for that part of the job.
Make sure you have the headlamps turned off to avoid high voltage shock. The rear of the headlamps open by pressing a plastic tab on top of a rear lid, you then turn the rear socket and a holding ring to detach the lamp. /gunnar L322 Vogue V8 -03 Giverny Green

the pre-facelift headlights are easy to work on but the 2006-2009 ones have to come out to replace the bulbs and tbh thats an easy job.. ... - .- -.
