Joking aside - if it has any development faults I would certainly find them!!

The simple bluetooth app can replace the 'Integrated Interface' controls (cruise switchgear and cluster display).

Check the vids http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/video.html

There will be a 'smarter' app for ipad coming towards the end of the year with additional functions such as the display of multiple live values, etc. You do need a BLE compatible device (bluetooth V.4). iOS devices are the iPhone 4s and up, the iPad 3 and up, and the iPad mini. There are numerous Android devices of the latest generation including the Galaxy S3 and 4, and the Nexus 7 (most anyway....).
We will be releasing Windows and OSx (Mac) controller apps as well.

cheers,

Hi Steve,

Is there a bluetooth device which could connect to the the non BT IID tool and interface with the apps?

Thanks
Mark

the normal IIDTool hasnt got a bluetooth module in it so its not 'bluetooth'...

just to clarify, the normal IIDTool uses the dash readout and the steering wheel buttons..
the bluetooth version of the IIDTool can use the above and any bluetooth smart v4 capable device.. ... - .- -.

looks like its going to be the normal one for me as my HTC phone only has Bluetooth v.3 anyhow, so it wont work on the 03 FF Banging Head If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

i'm in the same boat , kinda..

i have a BT IIDTool for my 2008 but my phone and tablet both have the version 3 bluetooth...i used my sons iphone5 with GAP's app today to do some configs and it was very easy indeed , so a device with BT v4 is on the cards for me.... ... - .- -.

the iphone5 is just right tbh, all the 'controls' can be used with your thumbs ...the ipad might be a bit awkward to hold ... ... - .- -.

The iPad app will have more functions (many more in the future) and is not necessarily designed for thumb only use - that is more a smartphone thing anyway.
If you are standing, the best method is to use it like a clipboard. Otherwise standard tablet use.

Would a BT version IID tool work using a BT Version 4 USB Dongle plugged into a Windows 7 Laptop?

i asked Patrick that and he was not sure..

me:my aim now is to find an android device that has bluetooth v4..i have seen usb dongles with that version for £5/6 so i’ll look into whether they can be ‘hooked’ up to my tab2 somehow..
Patrick: Not sure if that would work, connectivity wise, it may need to have a special API which we want to avoid. There a just too many out there!
