airbag / firing circuit fault can anyone help

the airbag light has come on on my l322 range rover. i have put a diagnostic tool on it and it says firing circuit 1. can anyone tell me what that is please?? do i need a new one, is it an easy job etc. thanks

had a look at your link mate and got some ideas i can try. so thank you.. its just the firing circuit 1 part i would like to find out about.

oh that does not sound good. surely there not designed so there could off at any time could they?? is it worth trying to get it disconnected?

It will be the slip ring in the steering coloumn usually... 2 plugs = 2 stage firing... So your fault will be with the wiring to plug one or two on the drivers airbag (usually a break in the slip ring wiring)

Very expensive new (check price with your dealer)

oh ok thanks graig. funny enough the chap i got the car from said he had a problem like that and he said he just cleaned the rings/connections up and the airbag light went out. but he said i should have no probs with it, but who knows. do you know roughly how much new parts would be from beadles? thanks again. jacko
